The IGDA Mentorship Café provides a short-term mentorship experience for participants in a comfortable environment. The Mentorship Café will take place asynchronously on IGDA's Mentorship Platform. 
 

On the platform, you will create a profile, get matched with a mentor/mentee for two one-to-one meetings, and connect with other mentors and mentees who share similar interests. Although brief in duration, short-term mentorship experiences are extremely impactful, especially when you simply need a nudge in the right direction.
 

Location: Virtual on the IGDA Mentorship Platform and In-Person across Alberta
 

Date & Time: Access to the platform begins 19 February to 4 March.

MENTORS

PARTICIPATION OVERVIEW

• Share your wisdom and industry insights over two 30 to 45-minute meeting with mentee(s).

• Answer questions about your specific area of expertise.

• Receive IGDA shout outs in upcoming social media promotions as a thank you (by request).

LOGISTICS

1. Register as a mentor below!

2. Receive mentor/mentee match email and initiate contact to set up a time for a 30 to 45-minute meeting. If you do not hear back from your Mentee(s), please contact mentorship@igda.org or contact IGDA Administrators listed under the "Admin" section.

3. Use the meeting function integrated on this platform.

EXPECTATIONS

• Look out for correspondence from IGDA (email and PeopleGrove inbox) and your Mentee (PeopleGrove inbox)!

• Honor your scheduled times with the mentee.

• Fill out Post-Mentorship Survey for feedback to help IGDA improve its experience for Mentors.

• Communicate expectations and boundaries with your Mentee(s) regarding future/follow-up communications.

 

MENTEES

PARTICIPATION OVERVIEW

• Learn from industry experts across multiple disciplines.

• Build your network.

• Make connections with individuals you may not have otherwise had the chance to meet.

LOGISTICS

1. Register for the program as a Mentee as soon as possible!

2. Receive mentor/mentee match email  and await contact from Mentor. If you do not hear back from your Mentor, please contact mentorship@igda.org or contact IGDA Administrators listed under the "Admin" section.

3. Meet with your Mentor virtually and engage with others on the platform.

EXPECTATIONS

• Look out for correspondence from IGDA (email and PeopleGrove inbox) and your Mentor (PeopleGrove inbox).

• Please be kind and respectful to your mentors and fellow mentees.

• Honor your scheduled time with your mentor.

• Fill out Post-Mentorship Survey for feedback to help IGDA improve its experience for Mentees.
